civic engagement projects
Our civic improvement volunteers, affectionately called “Ivy-Leaguers,” are passionate about beautifying and greening various civic spaces throughout Dorchester County. Club members seasonally maintain and provide new garden plants, potted containers and holiday greenery to enhance the landscapes of our the following public monuments and/or buildings:
Heron Garden, Long Wharf, Cambridge
World War II Memorial Garden, Cambridge
Dorchester County Circuit Courthouse, Cambridge
Our civic beautification projects:
scholarship fund
DGC awards an annual scholarship to graduating seniors from each of Dorchester County’s high schools who intend to pursue conservation, environmental or horticultural studies. The committee distributes scholarship application forms to guidance offices at NDHS and CSDHS in April.
